RD-Elastoflex is highly recommended as a waterproofing and protection coating for the renovation of walls, façades and structures made of concrete or bricks. It prevents the penetration of moisture and carbon dioxide and blocks the acceleration of corrosion of the reinforcing steel inside the concrete. The specific formulation enables to combine different functionalities including high dirt pick-up resistance, good resistance against pollution and a nice aesthetical finish.

Description of the product
USE:
Breathable waterproofing system for concrete, walls and façades; protects against weathering, carbonation and water ingress.
FEATURES:
Single component water-based elastomeric coating formulated with pure acrylic resins and high-quality pigments. RD-Elastoflex will protect the surface against water ingress while allowing water vapour to escape through the paint film. This will prevent moisture and polluted air being trapped inside the building. Its high elasticity (> 600%), maintained also during winters, helps to bridge cracks and maintain the film properties durably. On constructions with active cracks, the use of RD-Mur Fleece is highly recommended to strengthen the system and guarantee its performance over the years.
RD-Elastoflex is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks.
It is a fast-drying coating system that greatly reduces downtime during installation.
Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings.
RD-Elastoflex is UV resistant and is meant to be applied as primer and finishing coat.
With its excellent dirt pick up resistance, the coating stays neat and tidy over time. RD-Elastoflex complies with the requirements of EN 1504-2 as a protective coating for concrete (principles 1.3 / 2.3 / 8.3 according to EN 1504-9: 2006) and has a CE marking.

On a smooth surface:
Apply a first coat of RD-Elastodeck diluted with 25% water or a coat of RD-Multiprim.
On non-powdering existing paint - aesthetical fresh-up:
The number of coats is directly depending on the orientation of the wall. If the wall is often facing pouring rain, it is advised to apply, all in all, 2 coats of RD-Elastoflex. For other walls, 1 coat is enough. If the paint is powdering, apply a first coat of RD-Unifix. Repair cracks beforehand!
Risk of chemical spills or graffitis:
The system can be top coated by one or two coats of RD-Hydrograff HP Clear Gloss.
On wood panels:
Thanks to its permanent elasticity and high-quality ingredients, RD-Elastoflex shows superior performances compared to many other coatings when applied on exterior wood panels. Use an appropriate primer to block the stain if any and apply two layers of RD-Elastoflex.
Indicated consumption is theoretical and does not consider potential losses during application. It can also be influenced by the porosity of the substrate.
Application instructions
APPLICATION CONDITIONS:
Ambient temperature: minimum 5° C (41°F) – Optimal between 12° and 25°C (54° and 77°F).
Relative humidity: maximum 80 %
Dew point > 3°C (5°F)
APPLICATION MEANS:
Brush, roller or airless (nozzle size: 015–023)
Application by airless is recommended and makes it easier to reach the recommended thicknesses. Use a device that allows a minimum pressure of 180 bar / 2600 psi at the outlet.
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:
The substrate has to be clean, dry, and free of dust.
New masonries must be cleaned first with an iron brush to eliminate all spatters of mortar.
Painted substrates should be cleaned with a high-pressure washing machine.
If the support is mossy, the moss must be removed with a special anti-moss product. Fill up the cracks with RD-Acryl W.
Active cracks should be reinforced with RD-Mur Fleece.
Use RD-Cement Filler to repair important repairs on concrete.
DILUTION:
Product ready for use.
RD-Elastoflex can be diluted by maximum 10% with water by warm weather (> 25°C / 77°F) for a better wettability.

SPECIFICITIES:
Mix well before use. RD-Elastoflex has a very high hiding power, we advise therefore to use different colours for the first and second coat for better recognition.
