RD-Sunguard

High performance solar and heat reflective Cool Roof coating with exceptional properties.

RD-Sunguard is applied as a topcoat on all roofing and anti-corrosion coating systems from the RD Coatings range.

A thin layer will allow the surface to reflect solar rays and reduce heat transfer through it.

This technical paint is based on highly innovative chemistry that maintains the essential properties required for cool roof coatings for many years.

RD-Sunguard guarantees long-lasting performance, whether it's energy savings, improved thermal comfort, or better preservation of materials.

Description of the product

USE:

High performance solar reflective coating - Cool Roof system

FEATURES:

Single component water-based solar reflective coating based on new generation of resins enabling the coating to boost its solar reflective properties.

Thanks a high solar reflective index (SRI) over 110, to its special pigmentation, very high UV and excellent dirt pick-up resistance, and self-cleaning properties, RD-Sunguard helps to keep and maintain the surface white and clean to ensure maximum solar and heat reflection over time.

RD-Sunguard is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks. It is a fast-drying coating system that greatly reduces downtime during installation and increases on-site labour productivity.

Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings.

RD-Sunguard ensures long-lasting performances, whether it is energy savings, better thermal comfort or lower heat effect.

RD-Sunguard can be used on most kind of surfaces providing first the application of an adequate primer coat (see table with systems)

Indicated consumption is theoretical and does not consider potential losses during application.
It can also be influenced by the porosity of the substrate.

Application instructions

APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

Ambient temperature: between 12 and 25°C (54 and 77°F).
Relative humidity: maximum 80%
Surface temperature must be minimum 3°C (5°F) above dew point.

APPLICATION MEANS:

Brush, roller or airless (nozzle size: 010–012)

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:

The substrate must be clean: dry, degreased and dust free. Non adhering elements such as older coatings must be removed.
Consult our system page for the appropriate primer coat.

DILUTION:

Product is ready-for-use. Dilute with maximum 3% water when applying by airless or in warm weather conditions (> 25°C / > 77°F).

DRYING TIME: (20°C – 68°F)

Touch dry : +/- 30 minutes
Dust free : +/- 45 minutes
Dry : +/- 1 hour

CLEANING OF TOOLS:

Water.
