    Description of the product

    USE: 

    Breathable waterproofing and protection coating for walls and facades with structured effect.

    FEATURES:

    Single component water-based elastomeric coating formulated with pure acrylic resins and high-quality pigments. Thanks to its structure effect, RD-Elastoflex Quartz will help to hide imperfections on walls and protect the surface against water ingress while allowing water vapour to escape through the paint film. This will prevent moisture and polluted air being trapped inside the building. Its high elasticity, maintained also during winters, helps to bridge cracks and maintain the film properties durably. On constructions with active cracks, the use of RD-Mur Fleece is highly recommended to strengthen the system and guarantee its performance over the years.

    RD-Elastoflex Quartz is water-based, easy to handle, safe and has no fire risks. 

    It is a fast-drying coating system that greatly reduces downtime during installation. 

    Virtually odour free, it does not affect neighbouring occupants and can therefore be used in occupied buildings. 

    RD-Elastoflex Quartz is UV resistant and is meant to be applied as primer or intermediate coat in a RD-Elastoflex waterproofing system.  

    RD-Elastoflex Quartz complies with the requirements of EN 1504-2 as a protective coating for concrete (principles 1.3 / 2.3 / 8.3 according to EN 1504-9: 2006) and has a CE marking.

    Risks of chemical spills or graffitis:

    The system can be top coated by one or two coats of RD-Hydrograff HP Clear Gloss.

    Indicated consumption is theoretical and does not consider potential losses during application. It can also be influenced by the porosity of the substrate.

    Application instructions

    APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

    Ambient temperature: minimum 5° C (41°F) – Optimal between 12° and 25°C (54° and 77°F).
    Relative humidity: maximum 80 %
    Surface temperature must be minimum 3°C (5°F) above dew point.

    APPLICATION MEANS:

    Brush, roller or low-pressure texture spray gun. (Tip Size 4mm). 

    PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:

    The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of dust.
    New masonries must be cleaned first with an iron brush to eliminate all spatters of mortar.
    Painted substrates should be cleaned with a high-pressure washing machine.
    If the support is mossy, the moss must be removed with a special anti-moss product. Fill up the cracks with RD-Acryl W.
    Active cracks should be reinforced with RD-Mur Fleece.
    Use RD-Cement Filler to repair important repairs on concrete.

    DILUTION:

    Product ready for use.
    RD-Elastoflex Quartz can be diluted by maximum 10% with water by warm weather (> 25°C / 77°F) for a better wettability.

    DRYING TIME (20°C - 68°F):

    Touch dry: +/- 2 hours
    Recoatable: +/- 24 hours

    SPECIFICITIES:

    Mix well before use.
    RD-Elastoflex has a very high hiding power, we advise therefore to use different colours for the first and second coat for better recognition.
